How To Know When You Are Really Buying "Verified Contractor Leads"

If you are in the market for a lead generation source where you can purchase verified leads, then there are a few things that you should be looking for to make sure that you are getting what you pay for.

This is the first of a series of four (4) things that you should be on the lookout for to make sure that you are getting verified leads.  The four (4) things are as follows:

    • Confirmed
    • Accurate
    • Evidence
    • Action

Verified Contractor Leads should be confirmed.

If the lead generation company that you are buying the leads from tells you that the leads have been verified, you should ask the who, what, where, and when questions.   Who verified them? What were the questions asked to verify the leads, and what is your standard of a verified lead?  How are the leads generated? When were they generated? Where are the leads generated from?

Verified contractor leads - The who question

The person who is doing the verification should be someone who is knowledgeable enough about the industry to be able to determine if the person is shopping or if  it is, what I would call, a "hot verified contractor lead."  If the person who is asking the question does not know how to qualify the person on the phone, you could find yourself getting a verified lead to nowhere but the land of wasted time.  The person asking the questions should be able to verify what the potential client is looking for.

Verified contractor leads - The what question

If you are going to be buying verified contractor leads then you had better know what questions are being asked to qualify the leads as a “verified contractor lead.” The person who is doing the verification had better be asking questions like, “ if we send out a contractor to give you an estimate and you like the price, are you ready to move forward with your project?”  Now I can tell you that if a person says "yes" to that question then you are well on your way to purchasing a high quality verified contractor lead. According to Kip (http://www.contractorleadssuck.com), "if the person verifying the leads does not know how to properly qualify the customer then you will not get what you paid for."

Verified contractor leads - The where question

There are many places today that can generate leads to be sold to you.  You want to ask, where were the leads generated?  Were they Online, Print, Radio, TV, Mailers, Sweepstakes...?  There are companies who will offer people the opportunity to get their kitchen remodeled for free;  "fill out the form and you could win a free kitchen makeover."   This is a low quality lead as the person is hoping to get something for free; you have a very low chance of selling them anything.  The lead is verified and/or qualified based on the form they filled out, etc.  You paid for it, probably a premium, thinking it has been verified but little do you know the customer allowed you to come out to their home because they wanted it for free.

Verified contractor leads - The when question

Finally, you should be asking, how long ago was the contractor lead verified?  If you do not have an answer to that question then you could be getting a lead that is old, stale and useless.  You want to get your leads hot off the press.  Try to get the company to send them to you immediately after they have been verified.  This will ensure that you have the best chance at closing the deal.
